BTSCF Newsletter - May 2023

Hello summer. May came and went in the blink of an eye. Check out what is happening at BTSCF this month.

The Delaware River Run 5K

BTSCF was a proud sponsor of this year’s Delaware River Run 5K. We saw so many of our athletes in this race and we couldn’t be more proud of them.

Congratulations to Shawn B., Alyssa T., and John S. for picking up some hardware with their race results.

In Case You Missed It

We continued our look at The Magic of CrossFit with an article about Understanding the CrossFit Methodology and then breaking down the stigma of “‘Man Muscles’ and the Feminine Ideal.”

Memorial Day Murph

Every Memorial Day we remember the lives that were lost in service to our country and honor Michael P. Murphy by completing Murph. This year we had such an amazing turn out and we are so humbled that so many of our athletes chose to spend their Memorial Day with us.

Our coaches and athletes tackled Murph at 630am, 8am, 9am, and 10am. Kicking off our 8am heat, Darci R. performed a beautiful rendition of our national anthem.

  • 4 Tablespoons Barbecue Dry Rub (Recipe Below)

  • 1 Teaspoon Coarse Salt

  • Rinse chicken and remove any excess fat and place in roasting pan or baking dish.

  • Cut lime in half, squeeze juice over chicken and rub halves on chicken and discard.

  • Mix barbecue dry rub, coarse salt, and olive oil. Rub evenly over chicken.

This rub can be stored in a mason jar or other sealed container in your spice cabinet. It’s an excellent blend to use for everything from grilling, roasting, and sautéing both meat and vegetables.
